    Hi all,

I have been a happy Blackberry user for almost 2 years now and haven't had any major problems. However, my mother recently bought at Curve 8330 on the Sprint network and I am having major issues connecting her BB to the computer to sync with desktop manager (or anything for that matter). When the device is originally connected it charges for roughly 5 seconds and then stops. It isn't recognized by the computer, even for those 5 seconds. It is also notable that the "Turn on mass storage mode" message never appears either.

I've looked at a bunch of forums and tried many different solutions but nothing is working!
    • Using a different USB port (directly into the computer, no docks or hubs)
    • Using a different USB cord
    • Uninstalling and Re-installing Desktop Manager
    • Plugging her phone into my laptop (that I successfully sync my BB to)
    • Hard reboot of device
    • Restarting the computers

Neither of our computers are a mac and we are both running Vista.

I'm getting pretty frustrated--all I wanted to do is let my mom listen to music and read e-books! Please help me out! Is there a setting on her phone that isn't correct? What else can I try? Any chance it is just a faulty device?
