I noticed the other day that DM6 let me know that what is the latest os6 leak for the 9700 was available as a update and I proceeded to update from within the DM. Is this a new thing or did I miss the boat on this?

If you install an OS on your computer, leak or official, DM will prompt you that there's an update available.

Mine always offers it, but I decline and use apploader to update, that way there's no issues. The wipe and load always removes the potential for any problems. But that's just me. Dm is quite fine for updating.

I'm in the same boat as Root, i never DM update.
And for OS6 it shows me the update but DM will not load it.

    I prefer
    Bbsak wipe
    Shrink the OS
    Load via apploader

You do know apploader wipes it, right? No real need to use BBSAK.

Hah, i just discovered this recently as well. I actually installed the latest OS6 release (.418) on my 9700 using DM. Worked fine for me!

I installed BB6 (.333) both ways, and agree the DM method works fine.

This might be a dumb question, but will I have to download all of my apps again or will this method keep them for me? It seems like it would take forever to get them all again and that's the main thing holding me back from upgrading.

Your apps will transfer over fine. If you've purchased any with registration keys, you'll have to re-enter them once the new OS is loaded.

DTM works fine but I personally prefer the Apploader. It seems smoother most of the time. Also remember to make sure that your battery is 50% charged or more before attempting an OS install/upgrade.
