is there a way to not have desktop manager add bbm contacts on a restore? i checked the custom setting but dont see anything related to bbm contacts. i save it to the memory card instead.

You can do an advanced restore and not check off BBM contacts, or selectively delete them prior to backup, but I'm curious......

cuz when i get a different phone and i restore them from the desktop software backup it tells me to re add everyone again and doubles the contacts. when i restore them from the backup on my media card it works right away.

btw. where is the advanced restore feature? using (dont like the new format for backups on 7)

That's a strange issue I haven't seen, over hundreds of upgrades, on OS 4.2-7.1.

Been a while since I used DM6, but if you open Restore, you should see Selective. Removing beforehand should be Delete Data.
