    Received my new Classic today to replace my long-serving BB9900 :-)

    Downloaded and successfully installed Blackberry Link and Blend.

    Link and Blend work OK with the Classic connected by WiFi, but Link does not connect to either the BB9900 or Classic via USB.

    The problem is that I cannot find anything wrong and there are no error messages.
    The BB device drivers install OK and Windows Device Manager does not show any connection problems.
    Following the BB knowledgebase instructions, I have disconnected from my company VPN and checked the BB network adapter properties and everything looks OK.

    My PC is running WIndows 8.1 and uses Windows Defender.

    Any suggestions please ?

    Try using a USB hub between the computer and the BlackBerry.
    That failing, try completely disabling the Windows Firewall.

    Thanks. I already looked at this thread.
    I have tried with and without a USB hub, but have not played with the firewall, so that is a task for tomorrow.

    Oh, just remembered one other thing.....
    Make sure the BlackBerrys are not in USB Mass Storage Mode.

    Answered this myself when switching-off mass storage mode and then up-popped a message about Link not working with mass storage mode.
