New Storm Owner: Desktop Manager doesn't Recognize Storm

So I just traded in my Omnia for the Storm and trying to get my contacts on the Storm.

I've installed DM and connected my Storm via USB. The computer recognizes the Storm as it shows up when I do "My Computer" but when I open up Desktop Manager it shows "Device Connected (Pin): None"

Can someone show me a way to fix this?

Check your Connection Settings. Make sure they are set to USB, not Bluetooth. (Options, Connection Options)

Did you install dm while logged on as the admin on that pc?

In DM it's already set to USB.

I installed DM while I was on my profile for my computer.

Uninstall and reinstall DM. Do a battery pull on the device also as your computer restarts.

If your running an av/firewall program, check your permissions.

I have uninstalled DM and reinstalled and still doesn't work. This is frustrating, I need all my contacts!

I know this thread is old - but I saw no body knew how to fix it and I have the same problem. so Please if anybody knows share

Make sure mass storage mode is set to allow when plugged in. Its under your memory settings. Hope this helps
