I just bought a Z10, and I'm at a standstill here with getting it set up because I can't install Link on my computer. I've downloaded the latest version of Link directly from the BB website (1.2.3.56), which is the file 123_b055_multilanguage.exe. Then when I try to open the file, WinZip Self-Extractor tries to unzip it, and nothing happens. No error message. Nada. I'm running Win 8.1 on a Surface, and all the hardware exceeds requirements. A search of the computer hasn't been able to locate any unzipped components anywhere. They're not quarantined anywhere. I've deleted the file and redownloaded it about a dozen times now with the same result. Rebooted without any effect.

I dug out an old laptop running Win 7, and I was able to download, unzip, run, and install that file without any problem. However, I'm not going to be happy if I have to drag out an old laptop every time I need to back up my phone. That's ridiculous.

Is Link incompatible with Win 8.1? Any other ideas or suggestions?

My understanding is that Blend only works with phones with OS10.3. Verizon here in the US has 10.2, and I'm not going to try to install a leak given all the complaints about 10.3.

Did you try it yet. I didn't ask you to do a leak.

Yes, I just downloaded and installed the Link part of the Blend software and it worked! (I thought you were telling me to use Blend, sorry.) Thank you so much!
