Thanks for including the log. The nil value issue may be what's affecting this. Pasting an 'article' on this issue, at the end of this post.

I'd encourage you to work with one of the Mark/Space Support Agents, via (free) LIVE CHAT. Available from the Mark/Space support portal.

There's a very good chance that they can get you up-and-running, after they get a little more info. In some cases, they'll create a "ticket" to escalate the matter to a Senior Support Agent.

Either way, the issue you appear to be experiencing is one that can be resolved.

    Article on NIL:

This article describes the process to isolate a calendar sync error when there is a corrupt record on the Macintosh that produces a nil error.

This article describes the process to isolate a calendar sync error when there is a corrupt record on the Macintosh that produces a nil error.

Errors in the sync log will look like this:

NSInvalidArgumentException: *** -[NSCFDictionary setObject:forKey:]: attempt to insert nil value
NSInvalidArgumentException: *** -[NSCFDictionary setObject:forKey:]: attempt to insert nil value (key: start date)
NSInvalidArgumentException: *** -[NSCFDictionary setObject:forKey:]: attempt to insert nil value (key: tzone)
NSInvalidArgumentException: *** -[NSCFDictionary setObject:forKey:]: attempt to insert nil value (key: last recurrence)

    First, try these steps:

Launch the iSync application, found in the /Applications/ folder. (iSync is not used for the sync, but iSync is where Apple handles Sync Services Preferences.)
    Click on the iSync menu
    Choose Preferences
Click the 'Reset Sync History' button. Read and follow the onscreen directions.
This may or may not launch iCal. When the reset process has begun the button will go grey, it is complete when the button becomes active again, but there is no need to re-click it.
    Restart the Mac

Open Missing Sync for BlackBerry on the Macintosh.

Double click the calendar plugin in Missing Sync, and set it to overwrite on the next sync only.

Restrict the date range of your sync. Set the plugin to sync from 1 day ago to 1 day from today. Then sync, if there is no error, then expand the date range a little to 1 week ago to 1 week from now...etc. This will help narrow down the time frame in which the event causing the error resides. Some people find that they are able to sync a date range that works for them so they stop the isolation process and just continue their syncs with that data range. That is an option too.

    Longer, isolation steps:

Launch the iSync application, found in the /Applications/ folder. (iSync is not used for the sync, but iSync is where Apple handles Sync Services Preferences.)
    Click on the iSync menu
    Choose Preferences
Click the 'Reset Sync History' button. Read and follow the onscreen directions.
This may or may not launch iCal. When the reset process has begun the button will go grey, it is complete when the button becomes active again, but there is no need to re-click it.
    Restart the Mac

Force a refresh sync, to do that go to:

    /Users/[user name]/Library/Application Support/Missing Sync for BlackBerry/Calendar/

Delete any file there with a .db extension and then try the sync again.

If the problem persists, then you can try going to Missing Sync, double click on the Calendar plugin and set it to overwrite the handheld on the next sync.

If the overwrite doesn't resolve this, attempt to manually isolate the event causing the error. To do that:

    1. Go to iCal, click the 'File' menu and choose 'Backup iCal'
    2. Create a new calendar in iCal called 'Test' or something like that and create a test event in that calendar
    3. Go to Missing Sync, double click on the Calendar plugin and set it to sync 'Selected Calendars' and then check ONLY that new 'Test' calendar
    4. Run a sync. ***Warning*** This should sync the test event to the Blackberry and remove all other events from the Blackberry. If you have events on the Blackberry that are not in iCal yet, they will be deleted from the Blackberry.

Does it fail? If it syncs ok, then proceed

    5. Now double click on Calendar plugin and set it to sync with a different calendar by itself.
    6. Launch a sync...

Repeat steps 5 and 6 until you've isolated the calendar or calendars that have problems syncing.

    7. Now, move a few (ONLY a few) records from the problem calendar to the test calendar
    8. Set it to sync ONLY the test calendar
    9. Sync...

Repeat steps 7 though 9 until you've isolated the event that is causing the failure. Once you've identified the event that is causing the problem, delete the event and recreate it and try again.

Thanks for the excellent advice. I did try a few of the steps but still get the error message. In fact I still get it, even if i disable calendar/task sync so the issue may be something else.

Okay, we'd like to learn more about this issue (and get you going, once and for all.)

Do you have an email address that we can use to set up a 'ticket' for you?
If you don't want to leave it here (public), that's okay; simply create a ticket when you get a chance. Or, you can do a live chat session w/ one of the Mark/Space support agents.

Again, there's a really good chance that we can get you syncing your data. The kind of issue that you've reported isn't common, but we can probably help you work through it, toward a resolution.

    Best regards,

    rick

I created a ticket on saturday but was not aware of a live chat option.
