Hi! Your scenario is useless, as long you dont tell, if it is working with Office 2010 64-bit. You forgot to write it.

    Easy solution:

After you've installed Microsoft Outlook 2010, simply reinstall Microsoft 2007 (you don't have to downgrade!). After Outlook 2007 reinstalls, it opens once in order to complete the install, and Outlook 2007 immediately recognizes the files you use for Outlook 2010. After that, you never have to use Outlook 2007 again.

Then simply sync your blackberry as normal!

Outlook 2007 acts as the sync connector!!!

How the bloody **** do you mean to do that? To install 07 while 2010 sits there, means that 2010 is either A. required to be uninstalled, or B. unable to install 07 as there is a newer and better version running??? wth!?

The 2007 solution listed above did not work for me. 2007 Outlook would not even load.

If Outlook 2007 does not even load your problem is with Outlook, dont blame BB or RIM for that!!

I also have problems with Office 2010 x64 (v14.0.4734.1000) with DM 5.0.1.28 and DM 5.0.37. I'm pretty sure it has to do with the MAPI architecture. So the only way it will work is DM is updated with the 64 bit MAPI support or completely make a 64 bit version of DM. The error I'm getting is:
'Either there is no default mail client or the current mail client cannot fulfill the messaging request. Please run Microsoft Outlook and set it as the default mail client.'
My Outlook is already set as the default. I also have to uninstall Office 2007 to install Office 2010 x64.

Guys.... simple answer....Desktop Manager is presently NOT compatible with Office 2010.

RIM will be realeasing an update of DM just before the official release of Office 2010.

Any possible fixes are presently just workarounds for this issue.

What kind of fun is that; waiting for the official releases? My problem has been that my computer won' t let me reload 2007 - some of the registry entries are blocked, so I'm stuck.

Uninstall Office 2010 (whatever version you have) and the run a registry cleaner.. such as ccleaner, reboot and try reinstalling Office 2007.

    Good luck!

Thanks, Scouts. Tried all that. I suspect at some point I'll have to reformat the HD and do a clean install of Windows 7, but I need a three day weekend because I don't want to start that process sober!

My suggestion is to have a secondary installation of XP/Vista/Win7 with Ghost or something similar. That way you can make a backup image of your main Windows and installed apps in case something goes wrong like a bad installation and/or virus/worms/trojans. It takes less than 1 hour to restore with verification, depending on how much you installed on your PC, which is a LOT better than spending several hours/days to reinstall everything.

well, the 2010 beta will eventually become official.....and RIM knows people are already using beta 2010....then why freaking wait? to anger their customers more??

RIM needs to stop making a gazillion types of phones and fix their pre-existing issues and get up to date!! Why the heck can't they have it compatible now? your explanation is something a RIM employee would give.

I'm already sick of RIM and their BS...we can't even do phone call recording and the browser sucks.

As soon as the 4g evo comes out, good bye RIM! good riddance

Well, everyone is free to think and decide what to do with their BB. My point is, most software DO NOT support beta versions. So, RIM is right in not releasing their updated DM until the official release of Office 2010.
Basically, you need to stick with 2007 for the time being.
If you read the "small letters" for any beta software (ioncluding Office 2010) it clearly says that users can use it at their own risk and that it is not recommended to install in a PC which you use to work or for every day activities...
Beta is a beta... and will always remain beta...

Many people I know are very happy using Outlook 2007 wth DM with different BB models.
We are the weird people trying to experiment new things, and we pay a price for that, dont blame RIM or Microsoft for that.

Try the new Iphone 3G and see how it synchs with Outlook 2010 Beta!!!

I finally got it. I just uninstall just Outlook 2010 Pro Beta 64 bit and keep the rest of Office 2010 Beta and only install Outlook 2007 32 bit. Since that works with me and I can enjoy Onenote 2010 64 on my Win 7 64 bit laptop. Yeah.

I figure so many problems with syncing with the beta that I should just stick with the one that works. The new features such as the social connector have no extensions yet and the threaded conversations I can sacrifice for most important thing syncing.

Like I said earlier it seems the solutions works best with 32 bit to 32 bit. Things work for some and things do not work for some when 32 bit to 64 bit Office.

If its not working for you then I just suggest you dump Outlook 2010 beta and go back to Outlook 2007. Yes the older Outlook 2007 can open but you will get a warning each time you open it saying just that which is just minor if you have it open all the time anyways.

Later, hopefully there will be a fix for the problem until then no need to use it.
LoL, Wow this thread was really long and no solution yet. No one listens. Just install Office 2010 Beta then modify it and remove just Outlook 2010 then install Office 2007 just install Outlook 2007. I been happy since until Microsoft and RIM release the final versions which is soon in June.

Why dont people read previous posts instead of repeating the same problem over and over again.

Come on guys, the thread is only 8 pages long and everything that has to be said about this topic has been said, at least until Office 2010 is officially released and RIM updates their DM to make it compatible.

I have a storm 2. I had MS office professional 2007. I updated to Office professional 2010 with Outlook 2010. My storm 2 sync with blackberry desktop was fine with office and outlook 2007 and continued to work fine when I upgrade to office and Outlook 2010.
My storm screen started to function Intermittently on Monday, received a new Storm 2 yesterday. Changed device ok. Went to sync and received message store error message. Worked with Verizion and Blackberry. To no avail. Uninstalled Outlook 2010 and reinstalled 2007. Sync worked. Updated to 2010 and all working now. Cannot tell you why. My wife has a storm 2 and her system is the same, windows 7, updated office professional and outlook 2007 to Professional 2010 and it works. Has been working since the upgrade 2 months ago.

Actually, as long as you install Office 2010 as an upgrade to Office 2007 (having made sure you were syncing properly with Outlook 2007), it will work fine. I just installed the final (not beta) version of Office 2010 over the weekend. I had to uninstall the beta 2010, reinstall 2007, make sure it would sync with my BB, and then install the release version of 2010. It works just fine with my DM 5.01.37 (March 2010 release).

Ok, now yes... Microsoft has officially launched Office 2010 (yesterday).
Anybody working in an enterprise with volume licensing already has access to the OFFICIAL release of Office 2010 (14.4760.1000). MS recommends everyone using the 32 bit version... even in a 64 bit environment.

So, RIM, now yes... we do DEMAND un update of DM so that it is FULLY compatible with Office 2010. No more fixes..

I say this, because with the official release of Office we are entitled to demand this from RIM.

    Any news about this???

Anyone have any news on when RIM will release a version of DM which officially supports Office 2010? C'mon... someone out there must know. It's been RTM for a while now so no more beta excuses... or are they going to make us wait until 2010 is available to the general public?

Im tired of not being able to modify DMs synch setting without using the fix described in this thread..
