Well, good for you! I�m running Windows 7 Enterprise and the same version of Outlook 2010 but unless I upgrade from 2007 cannot synch. Even when doing so I still cannot use advanced options and less mapping fields.

Question... what version of DM are you using? I�m on 5.0.1.28

false...you have to do outlook 2007 in the mix somehow to get it to work, you cant do a fresh install of outlook 2010 and have it work

The plan you suggested seems it might work. I think Outlook 2010 uses a different file formant in saving the whole Outlook database and I don't remember if I accidentally clicked yes to convert or not.

This raises another question if I do proceed with this course of action that uninstalling Outlook 2010 64 beta to Outlook 2007 32 that the file could be read by the older program. If it can then I guess this plan would work. The reason is the older Outlook (2007 32bit) needs to read it in order for me to set up the sync then uninstall Outlook 2007 32 bit then install Outlook 2010 64 bit beta.

HI everyone,
I had the same problem (no sync with outlook 2010 beta), and by using the workaround described in this forum, things are going a little bit better.

What I did :

1. I installed office 2007 trial version (without uninstalling Office 2010 previously installed), and choosed to install ONLY outlook
2. I opened Outlook 2007,
3. Said "yes" when Outlook 2007 told me "Your PST file have been made with an newer version of Outlook. you may encounter problems. Do you wish to continue ?"
4. I went into DTM and configured my synchronisation parameters and ran a synchronisation.
5. It worked !
6. Then I uninstalled Outlook 2007 beta
7. I started Outlook 2010 Beta (The first time it didn't work : "PST file not found", but after a repair, it was fine)
8. Ran again DTM and the synchronisation
9. It worked !
10. I made some test (creating new contacts in both outlook and BB, ran a synchronisation), everything was fine !

So you don't need to uninstall your previous version of Office 2010 beta before installing Office 2007 trial.
The only problem remaining is that DTM still doesn't allow me to configure and map my synchronisation parameters in advanced mode. I can change the direction of synchronisation (one way or two ways) but cannot setup the folders I want to synchronize or map the field.

Hope this will help.
And hope we'll find a complete workaround for that

I was thinking that yeah you might of given me a solution without uninstalling Outlook 2010 Pro Beta 64 bit. So I followed your suggestion and installed not the trial but the Office 2007 Pro Plus 32 bit that I had the CD to install. I opened it up and got the same error

so I continued on and set the DM. The sync worked while Outlook 2007 was installed. After uninstalling Outlook 2007 and having to repair Office 2010 beta 64 bit. I get the following in the attached file that the profile is gone.

I'm very sorry , I should have precised that I was using a 32 bits version of Office 2010 beta. Maybe this have to see with the error you had. I've edited my post to add this precision.

If the error came from that, maybe you could try to install a trial version of Office 2007 64 bits ?

Does your outlook 2010 .pst file open correctly at least ?

I had the same problem. There is no Office 2007 64bit. The pst file for Office 2010 64bit did open ok in Office 2007.

Maybe i need to uninstall Office 2010 64bit and install 32 bit version. I need this to work.

I have been having the same issue as everyone else here, started off with a different error, I fixed that one and now get the "No Available Message Stores"

I have tried the mapi fix, the intel*** folder fix, the outlook connector fix, the downgrading to Desktop Manager 4.2 fix, uninstalling and reinstalling with reboots in between, deleting my Outlook Profile, deleting the software out of the registry before the new install, EVERYTHING I can think of!

NOTHING WORKS! .... EXCEPT THIS:

Sync with Outlook Express! I now have a working address book on my NEW BLACKBERRY BOLD 9700! Thank Goodness I don't have anything stored in the calendar yet of the NEW Microsoft Office 2010 Beta!... So my calendar inputs will have to be done by hand until they can come up with a fix for this!

I seem to be getting the same error when sync, but i did get it work when i use outlook express even tho it not installed on my system, it work to a certain point like Pic ID dont update, and some of the contacts dont carry over but it did sync with no errors

Office 2010 uses the same pst format than Office 2007. I have tried upgrading and then downgrading ad had no issue with pst file compatiblity. For my knowledge, the Beta version availabl to the public is a more recent version than the technical version mentioned several times in the forums.

Make your DM synch properly with your 2007 Outlook BEFORE installing 2010. You do not need to uninstall 2007, just upgrade with 2010 beta. Once installed you will be able to synh but you will not be able to modify any synch settings in DM. This is a known issue between 2010 beta and current DM versions.

I finally got it. I just uninstall just Outlook 2010 Pro Beta 64 bit and keep the rest of Office 2010 Beta and only install Outlook 2007 32 bit. Since that works with me and I can enjoy Onenote 2010 64 on my Win 7 64 bit laptop. Yeah.

I figure so many problems with syncing with the beta that I should just stick with the one that works. The new features such as the social connector have no extensions yet and the threaded conversations I can sacrifice for most important thing syncing.

Like I said earlier it seems the solutions works best with 32 bit to 32 bit. Things work for some and things do not work for some when 32 bit to 64 bit Office.

If its not working for you then I just suggest you dump Outlook 2010 beta and go back to Outlook 2007. Yes the older Outlook 2007 can open but you will get a warning each time you open it saying just that which is just minor if you have it open all the time anyways.

Later, hopefully there will be a fix for the problem until then no need to use it.

Although since upgrading to Win7 I'm not sure it even synched on Outlook 07, or if I ever tried it. I went to Win7 then downloaded the Office 10 beta.

I just purchased the Bold 9700 2 days ago. Could not get the phone to sync. I was getting the exact same error messages and frustrations. I had downloaded and was using Office 2010 Beta as well. I had a Bold 9000 from a while back (switched from it to the iPhone) that was set up in my DM and was sync fine in the past during the Outlook 2007 version.

So, I decided to pull the Bold 9000 out and see if it would sync with Outlook 2010. Well, it did. So, the information given here that if the phone was originally set up and syncing with Outlook 2007, it will sync inside Outlook 2010 after the upgrade.

Problem, I have the new 9700 and can't sync. Fearing the worst, I went ahead and did a re-sync of both the Bold 9000 and the iPhone to be sure I had a back up for all of my calendars, task, contacts, and mail. I tried uninstalling the Outlook 2010 and was succesful. When I tried to fix 2007 and make it work, I got a ton of errors. I was sweating it for sure. I had to completely wipe out all of Office 2010 and 2007 to get anything to work. I don't know why, but that was my only method I could think of.

So, I reinstalled all of my 2007 suite and then set up my new Bold 9700 in the DM. Wow, it worked. Everything syncs now. After a few contacts that had to be found in the log, printed out, then deleted, and reinstalled after the sync (which was about 8 contacts), everything loaded fine.

I'm now worried about reinstalling the 2010 Beta Office package again. I'd hate to have to redo all of that again. Has anyone done this with and it worked. I know my Bold 9000 will sync, but should I be worried?

The only way atm to do this is to keep both outlook 2007 and 2010 on your computer, you can make changes in 2010 and they automatically update the 2007 side, without you having to ever actually run 2007, DM is going to look at the .pst files from 2007 and 2010 knows how to overwrite it. Therefore, you can happily enjoy 2010 without having to use, 07.

Funny thing is again i say 2010 can overwrite the .pst file but DM won�t read it from the 2010 stand-alone yet and still it is beta not much to complain about unless you want to "send a frown" from your notifications LOL
