Like I said folks, also install Outlook 2007 and then it will sync sync 2010. Once 2007 is installed, BDM will see Outlook and all your entries will appear in 2010. Works fine this way for me.

if you have office 2007 installed and install the 2010 beta as an upgrade it will work , but 2010 x64 wont let you upgrade and it makes you uninstall the 0ld 2007 before installing the 2010 x64 and the sync wont work then11-21-09 04:49 PMLike 0 -

I tried reinstalling outlook 2007, then had to repair 2010 beta because of a file error, then make 2010 my [rimary email app. Same result....no message store. Any more suggestions11-22-09 10:25 AMLike 0 -

Only thing I can suggest is to format your computer and re-install everything from scratch.

OK...finally got this to work. Installed Outlook 2007, then attempted to set up sync. Same error message with 2 way syc, so I selected 1 way sync which was accepted, then changed back to 2 way. I then repaired my Outlook 2010 beta installation and was able to sync with DM 5.0.18. Life is good again Thank you DataCentreLast edited by taxed2death; 11-23-09 at 08:19 PM.

If you don�t have Outlook 2007 to then upgrade to 2010, try installing Outlook 2003, install DM, configure synch, and then do the upgrade from 2003 to 2010 beta. It did work for me!
Only thing, be sure to configure properly every detail and aspect of the synch you wish between Outlook 2003 and DM, before doing the upgrade to 2010. Once you upgrade to 2010 you will be able to synch, but you will NOT be able to modify any synch options!!

Thanks scouts for the work around. Is it syncing 2 ways for calendar and contacts for you? I do have a 2003 office copy on CD. I may have to reinstall but I may just get a new HP laptop for $300 pretty soon. They are cheap enough and I would like to update to windows 7. Great work on discovering a fix.

i had to cll blackbery but i had isues that 4 of my address book entries somehow were corrupted and were not linking, uncheck address book and try and if it goes throlugh see if thats not the issue.12-04-09 07:15 PMLike 0 -

When I was trying the sync the other night, I was trying to uncheck the address book, and it did uncheck. Then none of the other ones would hold a check. As others have said, it seems like an outlook.pst personal folder mapping problem, because 2010 maps your .pst to [email protected] and blackberry DM is probably looking for outlook.pst.
When I went in to change the folder location, it was greyed out. and when I went through the wizard to setup any of them, calendar, tasks, etc. it would go throught the wizard, then give me the message store error.
It also was giving me an address book error when I was trying to map the location to the file location. So maybe the problem is the address book and not the personal folder.
As one of the other folks said, since this is beta, blackberry is probably not supported, like in 2007 office beta, so we may have to wait, or use one of the workarounds like installing 2003 or 2007, installing DM, configuring, then installing 2010 office.
I am thinking of just using the google sync to sync my calendar and contacts.

Glad to be of help! Yes they do apply to Windows 7 x64. The only difference is that you need to first install Office 2007 (Outlook really) x64 and not de 32 bit version.
OBviously the Office 2010 also has to be the 64 bit version.

Ok, sorry if I was unclear about my explanation. Office 2007 only comes as a 32 bit software. This version can be installed in any Windows x64 system.
If you upgrade to Office 2010 beta yu MUST install the 32 bit version, as the 64 bit version will completely uninstall Outlook 2007 (32 bit version), taking with it whatever synch configuration you established with DM.
The only work around is to use the 32 bit Office 2010 beta version. There is no way around if you install Office 2010 64 bit beta version, sorry for that!
You will not notice performance difference between the 32 and 64 bit Office 2010 version...not yet.. In theory the final version should provide a difference, but at this Beta stage the 32 bit version even performs slightly better than de 64 bit version.
It is the 64 bit OS that makes a difference ig you have more than 3 Gb ram in your PC.
Use the latest version of DM, that is 5.0.1.28 to ensure compatibility with Windos 7.

I believe that everyone that says they got it to work by installing 2003 or 2007 actually does not have it updating the details. For mine it says it is syncing just fine. However, I cannot setup new relationships, and the ones it says it is syncing do not actually update the information. I change or add contacts and they do not update on the phone despite DTM looking like it sync'd successfully.

If U try Outlook 2010 BETA rather than the Technical Preview U should find that U have no problems with synching. I am running Office 2010 Beta on Windows 7 Ultimate using Desktop Manager 5.0.1.28 and have no difficulties whatsoever synching all aspects of Outlook with my Berry12-08-09 04:05 PMLike 0 -

Now, you say that with the previous beta version of Office 2010 you can synch with no problem... the question here is, did you upgrade from a previous version of Outlook such as 2007 or even 2003?
If you did not, i.e did a clean install of Outlook 2010, then you are right in what you say.

Office 2010 was clean installed on my freshly formatted laptop straight after installing Windows 7 with no previous versions of Office ever having touched it. No problems with synching at all12-08-09 04:24 PMLike 0 -

Wow! First news on that. Were you able to set up the synch using DM? What about the Advanced setup for each synch, that is Calendar, Tasks, Contacts and Memo? Could you map fields as well?
If so, please le us know the exact build of the Outlook 2010 you are using please.
