Been an Apple user since the days of the Apple ][e. I'm currently using a MacBook Pro for Final Cut Pro 7/DVD Studio Pro editing.
We are actively using the following Macs in the household:
MacBook Pro, MacBook, iBook G4, Intel iMac
I got a MacBook Air @ 2.13 and I use DM for Mac to synch my BB9700.
I have a Macbook white late 2009 and I mostly use it to remove apps or to load media onto it, but recently I've been having syncing issues and I stopped using to sync my agenda and my calendar, I use Google sync now on my 8520.
Also been a Mac user for almost a year now and haven't looked back :D
Yeah i have to say I love my MacBook Pro!!!
I have a Windoze laptop as well but I have not used it since getting my Mac!!!
Love!!!

Sold my iMac G5, 1.63 GHz, 80 GB HD running on 10.5.8. It was my Baby and I miss it. But, as we speak, my iMac i5 Quad is on it's way riding on the back of a Snow Leopard.
Posted from my CrackBerry at wapforums.crackberry.com
recently switched to Mac june 09. couldnt be happier. use mt mac mostly for dj'ing (ssl) and music and video creation/editing purposes . running a 2.26 ghz core 2 duo 13" unibody macbook pro with 4 gigs of ram . 160 gb internal drive ( soon replacing with 500 gb) and several 500gb and 1 tb external usb and fire wire drives .
i use the DM to sync andhave recently started having trouble syncing the calendar after installing snow leapord. other than that i love my mac and will neva go back to pc. next up a 27" imac ( maybe for my bday this summer)
Wealth of information on here.. Relatively new BB user using an iBook G4 running Tiger.. Does anyone know if the BB Desktop Manager works on Tiger? The minimum requirements on their site says no but I wanted to see if anyone has given it a shot.. Thx!
Mac FTW :) MacBook Pro 2009 :)
Nope, 10.5.5 or above. You can use Pocket Mac or the Missing Sync (positive and negative opinions about both around here), but won't get all the functionality of the DM.
hi, my name is jn.
and i am a Macaholic.
:D
Hey guys. My Bday today, and GF bought me a imac. HUGEEE bigger than my TV in my bedroom haha.
All strange and new to me, but been wanting one for years!!
Mac rocks for me over PC
~Joe
Glad to find this thread. I see a number of Mac loving, BB noobs like myself who have started thread asking for help download the new OS. None have gotten beyond the OP. Is this the place a brother might get some love? I see the PC folks say NOT to use the DM, but the whole thing is new to me.
Is 5.0 even worth it?
I can not say I am a Mac addict, but I am loving and looking forward to own Mac for more than 8 years, last month finally get one own mac. My father brought me MacBook Pro (13.3") for my new year gift.
And I am use Bold 9000 now, the mac version desktop manager doesn't look working fine, it's killing me.
What's your OS version?
If it's Tiger (10.4.X), I don't think it works.
new mbp's are on 10.6 snow leopard, last year & before that, 10.5 leopard.
checking in: mbp15 santa rosa (2008). desktop manager works fine on it.
only thing being on [mac] desktop manager: it looks for the latest upgrade depending on what device is connected - so if that's a carrier branded phone, you'll be stuck with carriers latest FW, & the phone itself may be obsolote before carriers FW catches up!
that's the only thing i miss from being on PC - the abilty to hack / unlock / debrand my own phones. not too bothered about it now though.
Totally addicted to my MacBook. :) I've had it for almost three years and I love it. Just sucks that I can't upgrade my BB OS through here, so good thing there's two PCs lying around the house. And I FINALLY upgraded to Snow Leopard a couple of weeks ago. lol. So glad I did, I'm really liking it.
Mac user here. But still use Parallels/Bootcamp for connecting with the 9700. I'm sure I'm not the only one.
17" MBP with snow leopard and win7. I sync and tether on both OS's but only use win7 for loading new software on the phone.
got a dumb question, haven't tried setting up a bootcamp partition yet, when I do it, do I risk losing all the data on my existing drive, or is it fine to do as long as you have the space free to create the new partition?
It's safe as it uses only the free space on your existing drive.
Woohoo, just installed OS 5.0.0.593 on my Bold 9700 via DM for Mac. It appears everything is working just as it should...
