I just tried the Mac app for windows phone.
It works very well, very fast and even has a podcast sync option like in iTunes.
In fact it seemed about as good as iTunes.

So, why can't BlackBerry make link usable?

I had not used it in a while so I tried it again. Super slow. Barely usable.

This is a significant flaw in the BlackBerry 10 platform.
Now, I do like remote access and usually just manually transfer new music.

I also like the music app.
Buy BlackBerry needs to make this a priority to get a good desktop sync app out there.

I personally don't have any problems with Link.
Does the Windows Phone program give you remote access to your computer's file system?

Since when is that a plus?

Given the reliability of Link's remote access feature, I'd hardly say this is a selling feature, unfortunately.

I don't get people's gripe with iTunes. I plug my iPod in and everything gets synched very quickly and accurately.

I think the thing may be that I have always used iTunes for its intended purpose as a music player and many were forced to use it for their iPhones as a desktop sync program

Also, I am on a Mac. A lot more people complain about the windows version.

No, and WP doesn't even have file access on the phone. Overall, I like BB10 a lot better but this is one area needing improvement.

Oh, and I usually just use remote access now to copy new music over.

I can't stand not being able to manipulate my files. That alone can be a deal breaker for me. Wonder if there are 3rd party apps for it or if it will come in a future update?

I hate that companies are trying to follow what Apple does. If people want easy and don't care, good for them. At least have the option for those that do.

BlackBerry desktop sync has always worked well for me and even though I'm not using the Sync to Outlook feature anymore, it is really needed and glad it's back. I also appreciate being able to Sync to iTunes as all of my music is digitized and managed with iTunes (I still have an iPod). I was looking at getting a Windows Phone when I bought the Q10 and didn't realize that desktop sync was available, was this a new feature added?

I think desktop sync for windows has been out for a while. At least a year.

    It really worked very well.

Just to give you an example, I recently copied a Linda Ronstadt LP into iTunes. It took longer to sync that one album to my z10 than it did to sync the entire artists, 6 or so albums to the very basic Lumia 520 I was testing.

By the way I got that lumia for a friend and it is a great phone for the money.

$99 prepaid from AT&T and it has a dual core 1GHZ CPU.
Not up with the z10 but awesone for the price.
