Do you have the latest version of Link?
I read that Windows 10 has it's own Contacts app that is intended to hold contacts from all your accounts. Does that one show up as an option in Link?
Yes! The Link is updated! But the link doesn't recognize the Office 2016!
No way! I tried to reinstall everything, cleanup, etc. The Link doesnt recognize Office 2016, maybe only after Link update will work!
I remember the same problems when Outlook 2013 was released and I still had a Bold 9900. They never updated Blackberry Desktop Software to support it.
Concerning BB10 devices and BB Link: as you can read in the release notes, Outlook 2016 is not supported as of now:
https://docs.blackberry.com/en/smart...9418099212.jsp
When will they update Link/will they ever update it? - I don't know.
I will have to wait a new version of link.... :(
Does somebody know if an update is coming?
No idea. BlackBerry's support for manual sync on Link is truly dire. If a physical keyboard wasn't a dealbreaker for me, I would have ditched BB phones years ago.
It's depressing that the main reason I am excited for the Priv is because I can't wait to get away from BB's awful software support.
If you didn't solve this, did you find a work around in order to get your Outlook Calendar on your Bberry?
So the issue is well known yet Blackberry couldn't find a solution for so long? Any official response from Blackberry so far?
Spoke with Blackberry support today and there is no solution for the Blackberry Link and Outlook 2016 sync issues.
How ironic... when Mr Chen (wrongly) thinks software is some kind of magic future for BlackBerry... all they can do is to keep screwing up software again and again and again and again!
I found that BB Link can sync the calendar with Outlook 2016 but not contacts. Having disabled contacts, the calendar sync appears to work although I did get some duplicates (from previous attempts, perhaps?)
I've been a BB user for many years but I cannot run my business without being able to sync with Outlook. Love the phone with its physical keyboard but not being able to sync contacts with Outlook 2016 is symptomatic of the lack of investment in support. I really don't understand BB's marketing strategy. Sorry but I don't see any future in this platform.
The BB10 platform, including BlackBerry Link is slowly becoming obsolete, just like all technologies once their user base drops below a certain level. It no different than any other platform.
As a work around It's still very easy to sync contacts over the air with Outlook.com, Google, Exchange server, Yahoo, CardDav, etc. Or you can use an app to export your contacts from your phone and import them into Outlook 2016, or email vCards for new contacts to your phone or Desktop Outlook.
I know none of those solutions are what you're looking for! But at least you still have options.
Posted with my trusty Z10
I had the same problem and purchased a new Z10 and it worked until a new update. I tried a number of things to fix the problem to no avail. This week I decided to wipe the phone clean, part of Security and Privacy, and I re-installed the BlackBerry Link on my computer. I have a Microsoft Surface and using Outlook 2016. After I did this, the phone worked perfectly. I decided to check my old Z10 and I wiped it clean and connected it to my computer and it worked perfectly.
