    After installing DM 5.0, I get an error message every time it starts up that says: "Blackberry Desktop Manager has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for any inconvenience."

    Any ideas on how to fix it?

    Should I uninstall and reinstall? Or something else to try?

    do the uninstall, but make sure you do it from controll panel and delete the drivers too. This way it is fresh. Oh and make sure phone is unplugged while installing.

    When I went to ADD|REMOVE programs in control panel, there is still a listing for Desktop Manager version 4.7.

    When I tried to uninstall it, I get a message that says This operation can only be done on installed programs.

    Anyway, I am in the process of uninstalling version 5. Hopefully that will fix the problem.

    it looks like it partially uninstaled 4.7 but never installed 5.0 fully.

    So, what to do now???

    I tried uninstall and reinstall. I tried to repair the installation. I am still getting the same error message.
