OK, I am no longer using my Storm (or any other BB...) but I may go back to it or to a new BB later, so I don't want to delete DM but I would like to set it so that it does not start up when my computer boots. I was able to achieve this on another laptop with Vista, but i cannot find a way on XP. Any tips?

you have to go into 'msconfig' and then click the startup tab and uncheck desktop manager then apply and reboot.

i would uninstall it, there will be a new version out anyway by then. In fact DM 6 was just released so the older one should be uninstalled anyway

How do I get into "msconfig"?

Click "Start" and then "Run". Type "msconfig" in the box and click "OK".

PS: 100% agree with Matt; if you're not planning on using it anytime in the near future, then simply uninstall it - particularly so if you still have DM 5 since, as Matt mentioned, DM 6 is out.
