I recently got the Tour for verizon. I had the curve. For some reason I didnt get the USB data cable with my Tour. I backed up my Curve on the computer before I sold it.

Now since I dont have the date cable.

Is there a way to go into the desktop manager and read the info on the back up? Like the BBM Pin #'s??

    Thanks!

No it's not a read file. But it can be converted with a program called "Amber"
something. I'm sure someone will chime in with the exact program. It has a
free trial I think. But beware that if you purchase it, you have to use a
    non-free e-mail address.

I don't belive the Amber converter includes BlackBerry Messenger contacts, just the Address Book.

The solution is as obvious as it is simple, buy a replacement data cable. You will need for device maintance and future backup.
