I backed-up all data from old BB 8320 to the Desktop Manager (v5.0.1.20). Then verified my Address Book Contacts files (300+) were on Desktop Manager. Then I transferred the files from DM to my new Storm2 - And now can't find them anywhere on the Storm2!

Granted, I've only had the Storm2 for a few days, but it is still a BB, and I've used BB's for 5-years...Searched high and low for the files on the Storm2...Even ran the file transfer a second time to be certain...Still unable to find the Address Book Contacts...

Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

    Thanks.

Put your old 8320 on the network or use wi-fi, use Google Sync, then reactivate your Storm 2 and use Google Sync on that.

Did you check the FILTERS to make sure that you have not filtered out contacts?

Did you make sure that the sync which probably was set for two-way now just goes one way? Oh, did you sync with Outlook or just do a backup?

Maybe the Verizon store can help move the contacts between phones?

Thanks for the suggestions - good information.

Unfortunately, right after I backed-up the old phones, I ran a wipe and pulled the SIM cards - and gave the phones (8320 and Pearl 8100) to my nephews...Am I screwed? The files are in Desktop Manager - I know because I can see the large file sizes - I can even see them being transferred to the Storm2 - Just can't find them on the Storm2.

Will check for filtering - Tomorrow will pay Verizon a visit.

    Thanks,

In DM, there is an ADVANCED mode where you can select which databases to restore. You could try that. What I don't know if restore works seamlessly between two different devices?

With some kind of generic file viewer you can look inside the IPD file and see the basic text for your contacts - make sure it is in there.

If you have trouble, there is Amber abc something or other which can decipher the contents of backup files. You could get at your contacts that way.

    Good luck
