Never had a problem with the RC and a full version of Win7 64-bit Ultimate. What's it doing?

I started using Windows 7 and my desktop manager yesterday - the latest version 5.0.1 and the two are incompatible. I spoke to RIM support who after wasting over an hour of my time admitted they needed a new desktop. My question is of course what planet have they been living on Windows 7 has been announced for months - Beta versions available for months and these IDIOTS have not prepared for it:

I'm having the same issues. I'm using DM 5.0.1 and Windows 7 Professional x64 and DM just doesn't work. Basically, if you try to do anything (backup/restore, load OS, etc...) you get stuck at the data transfer stage. There are no error messages or anything, but the Windows taskbar does show DM as "Disconnected--BlackBerry Desktop Manager."

Everything works fine on my laptop, which is running XP x32.

I am running Windows 7 (64-bit) and installed DM 5.0.1. DM starts up with the message to make sure that the BB (9630 in my case) is connected but does not offer the 'OK' button as in previous versions with the result that I can't use DM at all. Funny thing is, windows and the BB Device Manager recognizes the BB just fine.

This also happens on my Laptop with Windows 7 (32-bit).

    Anybody else having similar issues?

On the Bberry support page, it says the bluetooth connection to the Desktop Manager on a 64-bit OS is not yet supported.

I found out the hard way as my new Storm 2 kept freezing and rebooting each time I tried to connect via bluetooth to the Desktop Manager.

I am ready to buy a new laptop that comes with windows 7 and I was over on the BB website and none of the downloads for the DM 5.0 show Windows 7 as a system requirement. I really need to sync my BB, what are people doing who have Windows 7??

well, I got my new laptop last night with windows 7 64 bit installed and downloaded and installed the DM 5.0 (not the 5.0.1) and it works and syncs just fine. I did actually look for the new DM 5.0.1 version on the BB website but it is gone.

We just installed Windows 7 and the DM is saying Before you begin, be sure your Blackberry device is plugged into the computer. The phone is plugged in. We've even uninstalled and reinstalled DM with the phone plugged in. Any suggestions?
