Can the old device be backed up and then switched to the new device at a later time? I have a replacement Tour expected in a few days but Sprint will want to exchange the device at the store. I would like to go ahead and use the DM device switch wizard and save the 3rd party apps, device settings, and databases before exchanging the device at sprint then bring the new device home and transfer the save apps and settings to the new device. Is this possible, or do both devices have be be in hand to do the transfer?
I think you need both devices, but just back up your current phone with DM and I back up my 3rd party apps with BBSAK. Then when you get your new phone do a restore with DM for all your contacts and calendar with the back up file.
