Hi Guys

Newbie here.. We have been running a BB bold 9700 for 3 years.. and had zero issues until the weekend when we got a error 523 problem. Unfortunately fixing this wiped all contacts and message etc. So I upgraded the software on the handset to fix the issue. All good so far.

To get the numbers back on, I thought I would sync with Outlook. This is where it goes pear shaped!

Computer 1 - Windows 7 Home premium - All working well all updates installed automatically. Installed Blackberry desktop 7.1 b42. Installed fine.. It wont start however. Keeps saying this software has stopped working. I thought it may have been localised to that pc.. so..

Computer 2 - Windows 7 Home Premium - All working well all updates installed automatically more powerful than computer 1 - Same issue as computer 1. Tried BB DM 6 - same issue - tried BB DM 5 (that came with the phone) and this installed.. Great! but no sync with outlook 2010

Computer 3 - Windows 7 basic - netbook - Same issue as above - software cannot start.

Went back to computer 1 and tried everything I could find on the net - uninstall - reg clean - reinstall - remove and reinstall .net3 .net4 etc find DLL's, rename and the re-rename DLL's, remove videos in video folder, remove and reinstall Visual C++ basically everything I could think of and find. Nothing will work at all.

The error seems to be to do with an invalid time format relating to the presentation foundation font cache. Could anyone shed some light or at least point me in the right direction..

OK Found the solution on computer 1.
I was chasing a font with invalid date.. however it was hard to see the last modified date and everything showed ok in the font folder. I downloaded a program called 'everything' which basically lists everything on the hard disk. Sorted by date modified and voila! one font file with an invalid modified date.. sorted it out and bingo it works..

Now to computer 2 - just need time to get on it..
