Media Manager allows you to easily copy music, documents, videos and ringtones directly to your sd card. You can also copy from the sd card to your computer.

    Yah ,

I see the bb media sync, and the roxio media manager

    mostly,

I manage my video audio and pics by hooking up the bb to the computer and copy and pasting into my desktop

will the pics vids audio be saved during a backup if I DONT use media manager?

I want to have the media backed up during my BB backups

No, the backup doesn't back anything up on your memory card. You have to do that manually using Mass Storage Mode or Media Manager.

One other functionality of Media manager is that it can see the device memory, whereas without it, your PC can only see the media card. I have no media on device memory so I don't use Media Manager (in fact, I use the DM versions without Roxio Media Manager).
