Posted this in the DM forum, but thought I would troll for an answer over here as well.....

Built a new desktop, runs on XP64.

Is DM 4.7 compatible with xp64?

Admittedly, haven't tried installing it yet --- ran out of time last night. But, before I tried, I just wanted to ask if there were any known issues/tricks in getting this to run with XP64.

Thanks in advance for your input.

    From Blackberry's website:

    - BlackBerry Media Sync is compatible with 32-bit editions of Windows XP Service Pack 2 which requires iTunes version 7.0 or higher; AND 64 and 32-bit editions of Windows Vista which requires iTunes version 7.2 or higher. Not compatible Windows 2000. Mac OS 10.4 and 10.5 require iTunes version 7.7.1 or higher.
Vista 64, but nothing about XP64.

Here is the webpage: BlackBerry - BlackBerry Desktop Software - BlackBerry Software at BlackBerry.com - I went through the DM link in my signature below, then Software Support, then System Requirements.

XP 64 has a special section for 32-bit programs, if I remember correctly. They go into the (x86) folder, since that's the code for 32-bit.

So, therefore, I'm gonna say yes, it's compatible and all good. But no guarantees, of course. Good luck!

You have to remember that XP64 is not based off XP, it was based off Server 2003. (Well the original XP64 was based of XP, but went EOL years ago and has no support or updates.)

So because an app is compatible with 32bit XP doesn't mean its going to run under the WOW64 emu layer.
