Desktop manager for mac hangs when syncing and won't quit normally
I'm having difficulty with desktop manager for mac; I'm using the most recent mac os.
When I connect a phone or pb and try to sync music, it just hangs. It also won't quit normally. Even if I never connect a phone, it won't quit normally; I have to use force quit.
The phone and pb do connect because I can see them in disk mode and copy to them manually.
I can't find any help on the RIM site. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the desktop software a couple of times without effect. I looked for an older version to install but haven't been able to find one online.
BlackBerry Desktop Manager for Mac Version 2.4.0 Freeze Lock Quit Force Quit Wi-Fi music sync
I had the same problem. This worked (finally) for me: Disconnect your BB device from the Mac. After uninstalling Blackberry Desktop Manager (BDM) for Mac software using the installer, on your desktop Mac check the Library/Application Support folder. Delete any folder or file that has "blackberry" in its name. (I had Missing Sync for Blackberry, which I did not delete because it is disabled when BDM for Mac is installed). Then empty you Trash on the Mac. Restart the Mac. Install BDM for Mac using the installer. Restart the Mac. Restart your BB devise (press and hold Alt, Shift, and Delete at the same time). After the Mac and BB device have restarted, connect the BB device to the Mac by USB cable. That should start BDM for Mac. For me, that "re-set" BDM as though it was the first time I had used it. I'm not sure of this, but I suspect that BDM for Mac got screwed up in the first place due to me activating "Wi-Fi music sync" by checking the "Wi-Fi music sync" box under Device/Devise Options/[Media tab]. I would avoid checking that box until RIM gets that bug worked out. Good luck.
