dm 5.0 has some issues i have noticed and so have some other people the only thing i can recomend is to try and go to 4.7 dm
Or when it's backing up, hit details and tell us what database it is processing when it fails.

Overview
When backing up a database in BlackBerry� Desktop Manager, the following error message appears:

Resolution
To resolve this issue, complete one of the following resolutions:
Resolution 1
Clear the affected database using the BlackBerry smartphone.
Record the name of the database that you were trying to back up.
In the error message window, click Cancel.
In BlackBerry Desktop Manager, click Backup and Restore.
Click Advanced.
In the Device databases section, select the database and then click the Clear button.
Click OK in the warning window.
Click Close.
Resolution 2
Perform a Security Wipe on the BlackBerry smartphone.
Click the Options icon on the BlackBerry smartphone.
Open Security Options.
Open the General Settings.
Press the Menu key and then select Wipe Handheld.
Make sure to include third-party applications.

If I clear the databases on device, how will I get them back?
DocsToGoCommonPrefs is the 1st issue: CLEARED.....
"Error backing up database" at same point second time
OK issues with "DocsToGoPrefs" and "Email Templates" (which was moved to SD card - maybe thats why)?
At any rate, "clearing" these does nothing .... So I guess I have to manually go through ea DB, omitting offenders.
This is a joke.
I manually backed up all DB files ..... so now if my lose my phone where are they on the PC?
fyi, its an issue with SD card - when I moved the apps back to phone from card, solved some issues
I have a new Tour....I am getting the same msg when it gets to "calendar options" Already tried clearing cache.....didnt make a difference....I have never manually backed up and so I am a little unsure how to do that and in my searches I havent figured out exactly how to do that....because I have anxiety issues with my bb not being backed up (lol) any or all help will be greatly appreciated....I am also using DM 5.0 if that matters....and my calendar is set to sync with my facebook app.....I cant think of anything else I need to tell you guys......thanks
I had issues with all dm versions above 4.6 with 4.6 it backs up every time without a issue. I suggest to try it because the advantages of the newer versions aren't worth it when you probably mostly use it to backup anyway.
IT turned out that moving the SD card stuff over to the phone memory solved the issue for me.......
