    Hey everyone,

I'm hoping you can help me. I have been using a Sprint Blackberry Curve 8330 for about six months. In general, I am very careful about backing up my information, but I have been using the device for almost six months and I never took the time to install the Desktop Manager. All of a sudden I got panicked that I would lose everything, so I decided to spend the time to do it on a Saturday.

I use a Blackberry Enterprise Server through my company, but I may be about to change jobs, so my first question is does it matter what machine I install the Desktop Manager on? I realize that may be a dumb question, but I didn't want to install it on my home computer and have it trying to sync my contacts with my home Outlook rather than my work Outlook. (Does that make any sense?)

I really just want to be able to backup my device!

Anyway, I've spent the last MANY HOURS trying to install Desktop Manager on my work laptop. And it still says "Disconnected." It never recognizes that the BB is connected. I tried some options suggested in another thread, but no luck. Then, I tried using Bluetooth and despite my laptop and BB being paired correctly, the Bluetooth options in DM are all greyed out.

I'm quite frustrated and I would really appreciate some help.

If you need more info from me, I would be happy to provide it.

    Thanks so much in advance!
