I bought 8700G, ebay. Have tried using DSM 5.0 and 4.7, have read all postings remotely related for two days. No luck. Here's the data . . . The device manager shows the connection as "COM 3" and the DSM shows the phone is connected properly with "USB". But still no phone connection. I can use the phone, but no access to PC so I can transfer Palm data. Any advice I'll try.
Try changing the cable you use to connect your device to the PC. And try one of the reart USB ports of your PC instead of the front connectos (in many cases the latter are not properly shielded).
