Desktop Manager does not recognize new software versions

Hi,
I'm having this problem with desktop manager.
Whenever I get a new version for my blackberry, I must uninstall my desktop manager completely, remove all folders and registry entries and then maybe it will recognize the new version. But now, it won't even do that.
I'm currently running v4.5.0.138 and I downloaded and installed v4.5.0.169
It does not recognize that there is a newer version to install, has anyone ran into this before?
I'm running Windows XP, service pack 3 and I am using the latest desktop manager version available

Be sure you delete vendor.xml. Use window's search function to find all occurrences. Also, it may be necessary for you to disconnect from the internet while installing the OS. I use DM 4.6 which does not have that problem.
