all i want to trancfer is my contacts and their personal info. how do i do that? it seems like it should be simple to do, but im having trouble. my old phone is a curve 8310 and my new phone is a torch 9800.
2 ways. One is to sync the organizer data ( calendar, contacts, tasks and memo). You can choose one or more to do. The other way is to take a DM backup of the device (8310) and then do a selective restore of only the things or thing you want like the calendar or contacts for example. The specific instructions are in the "how to" section.

In the desktop manager (DM), there is a backup feature for settings, RIM apps and organizer data. RIM apps are those obtained from the load itself or off a RIM website. 3rd party apps are not included. 3rd party apps are those like Google Maps and BerryWeather.
