I just got a brand new Curve 8530, and the first time I plugged it into my laptop, it seemed to install the 'device driver software', but after that the phone turned off and tried to reboot but couldn't. After that the phone would not reboot or turn back on until I unplugged it from the computer. Any advice? I'm thinking of going into the Sprint store and seeing what they can do. Thx

interesting... have you tried a different usb port ? are you using the same cable that came with the phone ? have you installed desktop manager ?

Yep on all 3 counts: I tried 3 different usb ports, I used the cable that came in the box, and I have the latest version of desktop manager. As soon as I plug in the phone now, it shuts down and starts rebooting but gets stuck trying over and over.

And I might add, I previously had an 8330 from Boost, and I had no problem using the desktop manager with that phone.

Ok, I'll try that... Haven't done it yet, waiting fir a good time to let it sit for an hour. btw, the phone connected to the desktop manager just fine at the store, so maybe something got messed up with my computer.. It isn't the phone.

Fedge, i downloaded the new OS wirelessly, and then discovered i could also update my cached Slacker stations wirelessly, so i figured i didn't even need to connect to desktop. But this morning i plugged in to the laptop just for laughs, and it worked!!! Maybe getting the new OS did the trick... thanks for the help!
