Yeah, I agree that someone needs to fix this bull****. But i don't think it needs to be BlackBerry because the same version of link works on 8.1 with KIS13 installed or any other antivirus.

Try "searching" for the thread titled: "How to install BlackBerry Link on Windows 7, 8 and 8.1!"
By the way, it's driver related!

Try "reading" this post, Kaspersky Internet Security 2014 also causes issues with BlackBerry link on windows 8.1, uninstalling KIS solves the problem.

Agreed! It could also be Anti-virus software related.
    I run Norton 360.
As a general rule, if you trust the software you're installing, sometimes "disabling" your anti-virus program while installing should do the trick. Also, "run as administrator." and remember to re enable you virus software.
Kaspersky is one of the top virus programs. Although, I'm not familiar with it, there must be something in the settings that would allow "Link" to work.
Having to uninstall the program makes it kinda useless!

To all who are concerned with NDIS.SYS BSOD

I managed to figure out the way to resolve this issuse.

This is only if you have Kaspersky 2013 or 2014 edition running on your pc.

Please follow carefully and ensure that all steps are followed.

Once you have Kaspersky installed in Windows 8.1, do the following:-

    1. Restart your pc with your Windows 8.1 DVD.
    2. Click next on the first screen
    3. Click Repair your computer on the second screen.
    4. Click Troubleshoot
    5. Click Advanced Options
    6. Click Command Prompt
    7. (BE CAREFUL) In Command Prompt, enter the following string. bcdedit /set {default} safeboot network
You will get a response saying that it has done this successfully.
    8. Type Exit in Command Prompt and enter.
    9. Go back to main Screen and select Exit and Start Windows 8.1
Now the pc will reboot and start windows in safe mode
Once in windows do the following:-
    10. Click on Control Panel
    11. Double click on Network and Sharing Center
    12. On the left, Click on Change Adapter Settings
    13. Right Click on any of the Network Adapters and select Properties
    14. Find Kaspersky Anti-Virus NDIS 6 Filter and select it.
    15. Click Unistall
    16. Close all the open windows.
    17. Restart the pc and follow steps 1 -6
    18. Now enter the following string in Command Prompt. bcdedit /deletevalue {default} safeboot and press enter
    19. Exit Command prompt and take out your windows 8.1 dvd and restart your computer.
    20. Now you can access Blackberry Link with no problems.

Hope this helps all who are concerned.

If you Do Not have a Windows 8.1 DVD, Follow this
Trust me, the procedure I have laid out works. If you do not have a windows 8.1 dvd, then you can create a recovery usb drive.

    Procedure:-

    Open control panel
    Click on Recovery
Click on first option - Create a Recovery Drive
    Click Yes
    Click Next
Wait for it to find the USB Drive
Select the USB Drive in the list
    Click Next
    Click Create
Give it some time to crate the Recovery Drive
    Click Finish
Restart your PC and select you Bios Boot Up manager so that you can boot from your USB Drive and then follow from steps 4 onwards.

i had the same problem with 8.1 bb customer support showed me the page where bb link is supported by windows 8 and not by 8.1 he told me that they r working on it. i downgraded back to windows 8, but still i dont use bb link even though it is installed. i turn mass storage on my phone (z10) , connect to my computer which recognizes the sd card on my phone...then i send my pics, music and videos to my phone. works for me!
