    Had the same issue so i uninstalled the application. rebooted and installed the new version and since then I have no problems.

    has anyone found a fix to this? I have tried uninstalling -reinstalling checked firewall settings etc but still unable to sign in.

    If you have a real-time virus protection program (which in my case Kaspersky Internet Security), try disabling it. This did the trick for me.
