My last BlackBerry was a 9930. I have a backup from the old BlackBerry desktop software (I forget the name).
Can I use that backup for a new BlackBerry 10 device? Or is there any way to convert that old backup to the new desktop software?
Thanks!

If you still have an active BBID, and you'll be using that same one on your new BB10 device, did you have BlackBerry Protect set up on your 9930? If so, when you do the initial set up of the device, it will allow you to do a one time restore from a legacy BlackBerry Protect backup. I did my Q10 that way when I initially got it, and there wasn't a lot of things I needed to import after that. Link may also let you do a restore from an older device, I'm not near my computer with Link on it, so I can't say for certain.
Great, thanks! Yes, I have my BBID and I also used BlackBerry Protect on my 9930.
I don't think I have the old BlackBerry desktop on my computer still. Ill download Link and check it out.
Pretty cool BlackBerry made going to the new system easier. Thanks for the info!!
