    I upgraded bb 9700 to v5.0.979 and does not communicate to desktop, I reinstalled desktop 6.0 and it still does not work. So Installed desktop 5.0.1.37 and still no communication. At this point all I want to do is restore to what I had before, but I cannot get my bb to communicate via the usb cable.

    Wrong forum, but you might want to try connecting via bluetooth if you can to a computer. I've had to do that for ones that won't connect via USB.
