It should install on Windows XP Professional x64, others have reported success with Desktop Manager and the Device software install.

I would repeat the download to rule out an error in the package.

Would it be because I need to install the service pack/support packs?

Like this one that I found in the drop down menu under the bb desktop manager files.

I tried downloading and installing the 4.7, the 4.6, now i'm going to try 4.5 ...but definitely looks like i'm missing some support files on my computer instead.

edit: NVM s/mime support package requires desktopmanager to be installed.

S/MIME is included in the device OS package, you do not need to download it seperatly.

BlackBerry Desktop Manager does not require any support beyond what Windows offers.

If you are experiencing the same failure with multilple version downloads, there may be an issue with your computer after all.

Any chance of using a 32 bit version of Windows on a different computer?
