I recently upgraded BB Desktop and aligned my device and information with the new version. When I start BBD and plug in my device, the lower right green corner area says 'connecting' for a while (1 min or so) and then says 'disconnected'. BBD is not recognizing my device. Here are some facts:

    -BB curve 8330
    -windows xp
    -tried computer restart
    -tried battery pull/reboot on phone
-device manager says 'connected' and then device disappears from list
    -have enabled mass storage mode
-have tried auto enable on the 'Yes' setting AND the 'Prompt' setting

I am out of tricks. Anyone know how I can get Blackberry Desktop to recognize my device so I can back-up and use the BBD features?

    Thanks in advance

Uninstall Desktop Manager, reboot your PC, and install it again. That should solve the problem.

Thanks for your reply. This did not solve the problem.

Thanks to anyone else who has ideas- wish I could go back to the ancient BBD!

If you still have the exe file, you can delete the current version and install the older one. If you don't have it, you can usually download one or two older versions from RIM's site, here: BlackBerry Desktop and Device Software Download Sites
