    so the desktop manager won't recognize my phone.. says device pin connected: none..

    BB desktop Manager v5.0.1.28 installed.

    Have you tried uninstalling DM, then reinstalling it?

    Also, the last time you used it successfully, did you eject the phone, or just unplug it?

    Try a different USB port. I have that problem on one of the ports of my older laptop. Also, sometimes other USB devices that use a lot of power can screw it up. So if nothing else is working, try unplugging other USB stuff and then give it a shot.
