Lol I live in the ozarks and get a full 3G signal. I usually get around 800kbps to 1.2 mbps on 3G. Where do you live in the ozarks?

Down by Table Rock Lake. My office is south of Branson. We're lucky to get EDGE down here. I don't intend to tether much here but I travel all over the US. Thought I might be able to do away with my AT&T wireless card.

I think they charge $30 - $40 / month. We have a corp account with quite a few phones and air cards across the country. About 5 of us have BB's and was hoping I could get rid of those air cards.

It appears this file is read only but when I look at properties the read only box is not checked.

If you read earlier you must use wordpad or notepad to edit it.

The only way you can receive phone calls is if your on 3G. Otherwise you cannot receive data and voice simultaneously.

    I did try that.
Note pad says "Cannot create the c:/programdata/Research in motion/blackberry/ip modem configuration.xml file.

Wordpad say " access to c:\programdata\research in motion...." was denied.

Microsoft word shows the file as read only at the top.

I tried making the Programdata folder and all subfolders read only and then again read only unchecked with no luck.

I've never used vista either. You would think if it works on XP and 7 it would work on vista.

From what I understand about 7 is it's interface is not much different than Vista.

Well if that's the case then idk. I know in windows 7 it has a a lock by the icon but right click on open with and select wordpad. It will let you save right over it. If not. Then just delete it and save the new file with the exact same name.

Thx for the tip. Easier workaround than the registry editor.

I had some issues w/access being denied so just I opened then "saved as" and then simply renamed to insert "true"

Now....my problem is I dont know what to do now to configure it (on VZW)

Its there lol. When you have it open using wordpad use the search function by pressing control+f and type in verizon.
I found it, it's on there but make sure when your in notepad that you turn on word wrap for it to display eveyrthing correctly
