I'm on Verizon, the evil tyrant company that, nonetheless, has the best coverage in the U.S. (at least in my area, they do). I installed the 5.0.1 OS just now, and was hoping to able to set up the IP modem without paying VZW's crazy $15 fee.
I was also excited because I figured I might get around buying TetherBerry.
However, as soon as I plugged in my phone, the option disappeared...
So, my question is two-fold: who has this working with their carrier (aside from ATT/Cingular), and has anyone figured out how to get it to work with a Verizon BB (I have a Storm)?
I have the T-Mobile 8900 and the tethering option doesn’t work. I get an error in DM when trying to connect. I tried with UMA or with EDGE, but no difference. Anyone get this to work?
Mine is the same way unfortunately it appears that Verizon has this option blocked also. Go Figure. If anyone knows a route around this without purchasing the Tetherberry software please let me know.

i am on tmo, 8900 and my IP modem feature works fine. i had my phone unlocked (no reason, just got a free unlock code from a CB promo), not sure if this makes a difference
The IP modem option was there but as soon as I connected my device to it it disappeared. I have a storm unlocked for tmobile. I don't get a good connection where my CPU is, also I use GPRS a lot where I live. Does anyone know why the options aren't there for me? Any help would he greatly appreciated!

I have Tmobile & tethering is free with them. You call up customer service & they'll walk you through it step by step. There's also info in the forums. Just do a search on "Using BB as a Modem"
