So, does this mean it wont work or will need to be sideloaded ?

I'm Hopkins it still works for those of us already have it. I'm sure you can sideload it but I don't know how to get the same hub integration if it's side loaded

Maybe i'm just not social enough but I don't really see why anyone would want it anyway. SMS works with any phone and there are plenty of alternative messaging apps.

Load up the android application using Snap. Just a one-time sideload, then you've got access to a variety of applications. As far as I know, firefox, google chrome and opera mini all work as expected, opera needs to be reset (clear data in device manager) each time, but whatsapp should work like it does already, notifications-wise, not quite sure.

I'm pretty sure after 2016 the bb10 version will work fine, just won't get updated anymore. Any "features" added (except maybe API changes, unlikely) won't affect much.

Traditional SMS should be fine, most carriers don't charge extra for it.
