The news gets better and better.
While this quarter was the 8th in a row that saw lower shipments than the same quarter the previous year, it WAS better than the previous quarter. Even better, BB10 shipments finally outpaced legacy BBOS phones!!

I think BBOS sales tapered off because of the availability of those devices and the announcement of BES12

Ehhhh... It was inevitable that BBOS devices would decline in sales, sure. The news here is that a) BB10 sales have continued to improve quarter over quarter and b) BB10 shipments now exceed BBOS shipments.
Didn't they say in the results that BB10 had risen from 1.1 million to 1.7 million?

I think that number was mentioned, but the whole breakdown of shipments seemed pretty vague.
They're off the bottom. Barely. They didn't quote Z3 numbers specifically, but seeing how many markets it's expanding into, I think we could be seeing a good 2.5 mil BB10 devices reported for the next quarter. Fingers crossed.
Yep. Any growth is good news, because it changes the perception. But few in the media differentiate between BB10 and OS7, so for it to get properly noticed overall Sales need to increase. That might be a way off
