Several BlackBerry Android apps are now slated to reach End of Life status on June 30, 2019, including Productivity Tab, Power Center, Notable and Device Search.

I use productivity tab every time I open up my phone to check messages, notes, calenders. My frustration isn't with the apps, it is with having to relearn how to use my phone every year.

If am reading correctly between the lines here then Device Search functionality will be replaced with a new launcher update and perhaps Hub & Launcher integration will replace the Productivity Tab.

If they kill the Apps I use most, they also kill the reasons for me, to buy another BlackBerry device.

At that point the only reason to stick to a BlackBerry device would be the keyboard which as we know, though improved, doesn't work as advertised yet...

Is this an assumption or definitive knowledge? I use Device Search and Productivity Tab Daily.

One thing to wonder is what will happen to Device Search with the new launcher for the users that prefer searching from the home page rather than using shortcuts.

Yep... something is definitely up in my opinion. Way too many things taking place in BlackBerry World and no information. So all we have is speculation unfortunately.

Maybe the next thing we get made aware of is BlackBerry Mobile is EOL... 🤔

It is really time for an official statement. Does anybody at BBMo and BB believe that one single person would buy a BBMo in that situation at the moment ?

Ya think??? Unfortunately I highly doubt an official statement will ever happen. It's not in BlackBerry Mobile's DNA.

I really don't think anyone should need an official statement beyond what they are signaling. BlackBerry is cutting back on Android apps that are lightly used and don't produce revenue. Does that mean that the Hub+ Suite is next? DTEK? We don't know, but logically the chance that BlackBerry exits the Android end user handset software market has measurably increased.

Anyone considering purchase of a BlackBerry Mobile phone today should do so without expectations for future investment.

DTEK is not but its part of the BB security package for the TCL phones
