Well everybody is still bi*ching about BB10 os being dead and this thread is empty?
What a weird world we live in.
I am quite happy that they seem to support their OS further. I hope the consumers will get something interesting from this as well. :)
It may be a matter of too little too late. From my perspective, BlackBerry has already effectively removed most of the incentive to inspire developers to continue with BB10 - they've decimated their own BB10 team and have said that no new features are to be released. What new apps can we hope to expect from the existing APIs?
It does seem too little too late, but at least it suggests BB10 hasn't been completely wiped from the corporate brain.
Calling it a "programme" seems a little exaggerated as well since it seems to be a competition/lottery with a time limited entry. A one off really.
Something else that they could do that would improve things a little for developers, at minimal cost, would be to fix the BBW "new arrivals" storefront. It is continually being spammed by some vendors, in particular "Pocket globe Company", with a large amount of overpriced offline GPS apps.
Simple fix: a particular vendor can only have one (or at most two) apps in the list at any time. Adding a new app pushes the dev's previous one off the list.
Hahahaha best joke I've heard today :)
