By now, most folks who keep up on the latest BlackBerry news should be aware of the device known as the BlackBerry Rio and since it first leaked out, we've been wondering whether or not BlackBerry would roll with the Rio name when it was announced or if it would be something like the Z20 as it has also been referred to many times.

BlackBerry is just asking to be ripped apart by the media. Once the media gets a hold of this news bye bye BlackBerry. Who the heck is thinking of these things? Seriously 2011 specs? It doesn't even matter if it's a low end device. The North American market isn't looking for a low end touch BlackBerry device.

I like Rio better as well. Made me think of OntaRio as I think that was the original code name. Also the phone looks like a Z10 refresh.

Im inclined to agree with you. When I saw the screen resolution I was wondering why it was released in 2015. There are low end phones for better prices. If I was in the low end market, I'd rather buy the 2015 Moto E. However I'm looking to hear more about that new slider.

I think it's ok for the corporate and business market. So far it's hard to find a highly functional mobile phone with a good battery at a low price. Many times it' snot necessary to have the latest and fastest processor to get the job done, and in the corporate market the price counts. So, if the device has a good efficiency / cost ratio, it might serve Blackberry's actual goals...
