Ya, but that's how Google apps seem to work.
One other company called BlackBerry does too!
I mean that their apps don't actually require an update - the feature is just flipped on by geographic region and/or language setting.

Still on 3 of my devices. Maybe their rollbacks are as slow as their rollouts.

Google is awfully slow at rolling out these redesigns. They announce then it literally takes months getting implemented. Just like Google Photos and dark mode, one of my devices has access to it (keep from updating as it breaks the ability to turn off sync) yet none of my other 8 devices have ever received.
