BlackBerry and AWS sounds like a brilliant combination. Did BB stock really go up by that much or is that a misspell? BlackBerry Ivy would have been a great name for a phone :)
Settled at 19% by the end of the day. There will probably be further sell off tomorrow.
I'm not sure there isn't something else going on.
BlackBerry isn't followed by most major investment houses, so there was very little "news" from those following the automotive market, on what IVY really means or it's potential (years from now). So no, the price movement on this doesn't really make sense, with the little information that was released.
Maybe the rumors of the Patent sale has a new batch of speculators involved with the stock, and they jumped at this press release? My view, is if IVY was going to be worth billions.... AWS would have snapped up the whole company - before this press release.
