Why must we be tortured with the ridiculous "Meet Local Singles" ads on every page of the CB10 app?

I'm saying you got to buy a BlackBerry 10 device to get no ads. Lol.

    Um......

    I own 2 Q10s, 2 Z30s, 1 Passport and 2 Classics. I think that qualifies for buying BB10 devices.

I just happen to have my iPhone with me at the moment.

My suggestion in this case would be for CB to offer an ad-free app if you pay a nominal fee to support the service like so many other user forums do.

But.. just so everyone knows, buying a BlackBerry doesn't guarantee no ads, especially not in the core BlackBerry products. Sure, when I bought my z10 bbm was free. Now it is ad supported, even though I bought a BlackBerry 10 device first.

I just checked a friend's Galaxy S5 and there are no ads in the app, so it appears to be only in iOS, at least for me. Btw, I think the app looks best on Android.

I would email Crackberry. Tell them why iOS has ads but the rest don't. It's a bit unfair to iOS users lol.

For what it's worth iMore Forums has the same ads. There are trade offs to using CB10 on BlackBerry 10 versus an iPhone or Android.

On the one hand with BlackBerry 10 you get the home page with all the news and latest stories. Other platforms don't have that.

Now the iOS has a cool notification page. When you enter the app you can click notifications and you get a list that will look sort of like this:

Username quoted your comment in thread X
Person5 liked your comment in thread Z

And so on. It is a cool feature. But I still prefer BlackBerry and the CB10 app. I prefer them 4-1...

There's actually been a lot of back and forth in the past with a guy from Mobile Nations I think named Adam Zeiss? Solid dude. He didn't have an explanation and asked for screenshots for proof not out of disbelief but just to see it. This was probably 6 months ago. Clearly no resolution yet.

Yup. It's limited to iOS devices, apparently. Not only are they annoying, but they're rather inappropriate ("Naughty Singles"). If they were advertising something BB-related or even some kind of technology I *almost* could understand but these are not acceptable for a site about cell phones. On other automobile forums that I have joined, you have the option of seeing ads with a free account, or by paying something like $20 or $30 a year for an ad-free version. I would definitely be willing to do that for CrackBerry, maybe others would also be willing to do this. The ads on the website are also very annoying, and have increased in the past few years as well. /end rant. LOL

Sure. When I originally posted the thread I didn't realize that it was iOS-specific. Moderator(s)-please add iOS to the title. Thank you.
