I'm going to be travelling to Guatemala and would like to know if it is possible to get a SIM for my unlocked BlackBerry Passport so I can have local access. I tried contacting Claro via their website, but my English and their Spanish didn't produce answers.

From Pearl to Bold to Z10 to Z30 to...?

You should be able to get one before you travel I would assume. Let's hope someone here can give you the proper advice. Can you buy one when you arrive there?

Just returned from Guatemala, and am pleased to report that I had several options for local SIM cards. Upon the recommendation of my local guide, I went with Tigo (not the least expensive, but the best coverage). A nano SIM for my Passport cost 50 Q (8 CAD, 6.5 USD) and a voice & text plan with 500 MB cost 75 Q (12 CAD, 9.75 USD). The plan lasted me all eight days I was there--a great deal!
