Extra info- This phone is locked to Bell/Virgin. Right after I bought it I noticed a problem with the keypad so the previous owner sent it in for repair. I made sure they did a same device repair and not a replacement. By doing this it ruined the ability to unlock the phone(I really don't know why). So please don't buy this phone if you expect to unlock it(unless you know a way to do it).

Worst? I don't think so .

Bell and telus share the same towers throughout all of canada.

Hey OP, how do you know it can not be unlocked after the repair?

I tried to unlock it... luckily the company refunded me the unlock fee even though they all warn you that a repaired phone can't be unlocked(most times). You may be able to get it directly from Bell if you are a customer but I can't guarantee that. That's why I'm saying Bell only.
I can't figure out why they would prevent the phone from being unlocked...

I had the same issue with my Rogers Z30. Eventually we got it unlocked. I had to throw the phone on my account for 40 days, (even if it wasn't being used), and after 40 days Rogers generated a code for me. Ask bell if they can do this

Did you have to make a new Rogers account? How do you put a phone on your account and not use it? The problem with me is I don't use Bell....

Find somebody else that uses bell and get them to put the phone on their account for 40 days. All you do is call customer support or with Rogers they have live chat which is really useful. They toss the phone on your account so it is recognized by Rogers even if it's not being used.
