Ive sent stuff as gift and the end users was taxed for 2x z10 , a playbook( new )and a laptop (used). This was to my cousin and it was really gifts. And they were taxed heavily.

It's all to do with the value of the package. I think anything over $100 is marked for duty if I remember correctly.

doesnt make sense, perhaps you didnt fill out the declaration form properly? I send stuff to my bro monthly, never have a problem. They also dont bother if you declare under $10

This was 3 yrs ago when Z10 were 400 each and playbook was 500... as Meattray point oout. this may have been why.

Just to clarify. I will pay up to $100 for a 64gb playbook ONLY if there is a blackberry keyboard that accompanies it. Otherwise, please dont assume I am going to dish out $100 for a playbook only especially if it wont boot up or has a crack in the screen etc. It states UP To ....and only if the tab is in excellent condition will I consider it

I still need about 5 more playbooks. I prefer 64GB models but will consider the 32GB only if it has the phone calling feature. (sim card) and must be in Mint or excellent condition, no scratches, dents, bruises etc. If it comes with a wireless keyboard then I will only accept the Blackberry Keyboard
