i setup a corporate email and the device behaviour changed. i have a very strong text password which is why i use picture password. but picture password is not working. decided that i really dont need the corporate email on my device that badly. now im wondering if the IT department can see files that i rather keep private via the now deleted activesync email connection?

You simply connected to corporate activesync server and not an mdm?
No, you're fine. Activesync has no way of pulling remote files etc from a device, especially once disconnected from server. To see what is capable via activesync, go to below link and choose history to see what each version of protocol adds.

Though it's technically possible for a full mdm solution to remotely admin access your files from device, I've never personally dealt with one that does though I'm sure a few of them do. BES doesn't, haven't looked closely enough at GOOD yet but don't think it does either
